Description of manuscript content:
Mahāpaṭṭhāna session or Paccaya 24 defines causes and factors of the Dhamma or emotions. For example, if we meritoriously behave, we will be reborn in heaven. If we sinfully behave, we will be reborn in hell. The fact is compared to a deeply rooted Bodhi tree that never falls down by storm. Emotions causing affection, anger, and delusion shake our minds. This is compared to the blind who depends on a rail for a walk or to a cowman who must remember the number and the characters of his cows in order to take care of them.
Colophon:
[The writing of this manuscript] was completed by hand on the 13th wanning moon of the fourth [lunar] month, the seventh day of the week. This ending fascicle of Seven Treatises of Abhidhamma was finished in CS 1207, a dap sai year, on the thirteenth waning-moon day of the fourth [lunar] month, a Saturday. Dhammavuḍḍhi wrote this manuscript during his stay at Wat Ban Hong Tai. May this merit support me.
