Later, the Bodhisattva, who was born as the child of a beggar woman in the shape of a Kingka (chameleon) saw Princess Pathumma and fell instantly in love for her. Thus, he asked his mother to go and make a proposal for a marriage. The king replied that, if he (the chameleon) was able to build a golden bridge from the chameleon’s house to the princess’s castle he would give her as his wife
Colophon:
Nibbāna paccayo hontu no niccaṃ dhuvaṃ dhuvaṃ.
In CS 1254, a kot si year, on the thirteenth waxing-moon day of the eleventh [lunar] month, the seventh day of the week, the writing of this manuscript was completed by Novice Kawichai during his stay of assistance to Sawathu Khruba Sommaṇa at Wat Ban Hong. May the merit be transferred to my family members and my teachers. May this merit also definitely reward me with sharp wisdom and new rebirth in the time of Metteyya Buddha. This manuscript was completed in the evening and I really want to hang out. I am not good at writing palm-leaf manuscripts. I did not feel well, I lost concentration because I really want to disrobe. Monks and novices who use this manuscript are asked not to blame me and to read it carefully. I sometimes got distracted and absent-minded because I wanted to disrobe.
