Description of manuscript content:
The manuscript contains several texts. The first text is about the major guidelines of Islamic law (uṣūl al-fiqh) in the form of explanations of what is obligatory and what is forbidden. The second is about Arabic grammar and starts with the meaning of kalām. The text is in the questions and answers format. The third is a letter written by Haji Ahmad to informs his father in Komering about his miserable conditions in Mecca and that he is even unable to buy food. He also informs his father that he has moved to Jabal Hindi. The letter is dated 15 Muḥarram 1349/12 June 1930.
The fourth text is a letter written by Ahmad bin Ibrahim dated 29 Jumadil Akhir 1349/2 November 1930. He informs his parents that he has received their letter and that he hopes that his parent will continue writing letters to him in Mecca.
