Description of manuscript content:
Nagara or Nakhon (entering the city) is the 13th of the 13 episodes of the Vessantara Jataka. The text tells of Vessantara who abandoned his ascetic robe and left his hermitage. The prince dressed in royal attire and returned to Sivi. He ruled his kingdom with royal virtue and died at the age of 120 years. He entered the Tusita Heaven as the male Deity Santusita.
Colophon:
[The writing of this manuscript] was completed in early afternoon on the third waxing-moon day of the eleventh [lunar] month, the second day of the week, CS 1245, a ruang met year. I, Sommano, wrote this manuscript at Wat Phra Cedi Yang Som to sustain the continuation of the Teachings of the Buddha to last until [the end of] 5,000 years. My handwriting is not steady because I am not good at writing palm-leaf manuscripts.
