Mahāpaṭṭhāna session or Paccaya 24 defines causes and factors of the Dhamma or emotions. For example, if we meritoriously behave, we will be reborn in heaven. If we sinfully behave, we will be reborn in hell. The fact is compared to a deeply rooted Bodhi tree that never falls down by storm. Emotions causing affection, anger, and delusion shake our minds. This is compared to the blind who depends on a rail for a walk or to a cowman who must remember the number and the characters of his cows in order to take care of them.
Colophon:
[The writing of this manuscript] was completed at the time of the evening drum in CS 1252, a tao set year. The handwriting is not beautiful but hardly readable as I am not experienced in writing palm-leaf manuscripts and the manuscript was wrote by various scribes. I wrote this manuscript at Ban Hong. This religious manuscript was written by many hands, namely Novice Anon wrote the beginning part, Chaimongkhon and Ubali wrote the following parts, while Ano wrote the final part. Our handwriting is not beautiful but only readable because I am not good at writing palm-leaf manuscripts.
