In the kingdom of Siviraṭṭha, under the reign of Suruparā, lived a dignitary named Dhammika Pandita who was a reincarnation of the
Bodhisattva. During this time, four bhikkhus went to Tambapanaya, ruled by the cakkavattin Sudassana, in order to receive the Cundasukarikasutta and bring it back to Siviraṭṭha. When the four bhikkhus returned, Dhammika Pandita made offerings to them and asked them to recite the holy text to him. After the recitation of the sūtras, to which the Bodhisattva listened attentively, Indra sent Matula to bring Dhammika Pandita back to the svarga in order to reward him for his offerings and for having listened to the recitation of the dharma. Dhammika Pandita returned to earth. Indra created for him a vast city where the kings of various countries came to worship him. The new king built a pavilion in which he gave alms to the poor.
