Description of manuscript content:
A Seṭṭhi (millionaire) living in Benares had two wives. The first wife, Sudhamma, had a daughter named Pu Gam while the second wife, Kāma, had a daughter called Sudha. Jealous of Sudhammā, Kāmā used a trick to convince the Setthi to kill his first wife. Pu Gam fled into the jungle and met Prince Brahmã who took her back to Benares. Later on, the Seṭṭhi tried to kill Pu Gam, but killed his own daughter by mistake. The Setthi and his wife were then sentenced to death by Prince Brahma.
Colophon:
iminā puññakammena kataṃ puññaṃ mātāpitā ācāriyāpuññaṃ yānaṃ ñātikā petāpetipuññaṃ no anumodakā devānaṃ anurakkhantu amhākaṃ puññaṃ metteyya santike kāle rammayathā maggañāṇaṃ nibbānaṃ paramaṃ sukkhaṃ. In CS 1264, a tao yi year, on the fifth waxing-moon day of the eighth [lunar] month, a Monday as the Mon say, at the time of the evening horn, I, Khanan (ey-monk) Ñāṇa, finished writing this manuscript to dedicate the merit to Mahā Sawathu Cao Sommana, my preceptor, at Wat Ban Hong Luang. May this merit support me to reach Nibbāna. I inscribed the manuscript at Ban Cediya Yang Som.
