A Seṭṭhi (millionaire) living in Benares had two wives. The first wife, Sudhamma, had a daughter named Pu Gam while the second wife, Kāma, had a daughter called Sudha. Jealous of Sudhammā, Kāmā used a trick to convince the Setthi to kill his first wife. Pu Gam fled into the jungle and met Prince Brahmã who took her back to Benares. Later on, the Seṭṭhi tried to kill Pu Gam, but killed his own daughter by mistake. The Setthi and his wife were then sentenced to death by Prince Brahma.
Colophon:
Nibbānaṃ paramaṃ sukkhaṃ.
[The writing of this manuscript] was completed at noon in CS 1264, a tao yi year, on the ninth waxing-moon day of the eighth [lunar] month, the sixth day of the week. Khanan (ex-monk) Chaimongkhon wrote this manuscript when he was a layman at a gunpowder factory in Huai Düa. My handwriting is totally not beautiful. I just followed the referential version.
