While the Buddha was staying at the Jetavana Monastery, Sariputta Thera came to him and asked what merit a devout person would get from donating a hut covered with cloth and decorated with wax flowers. The Buddha delivered a sermon describing the merit derived from donating a hut covered with cloth and wax flowers.

Folio 5 on the verso side: In BE 2529, a hwai nyi year (Khan-tiger), on the second day of the waxing moon of the seventh [lunar] month, on Monday, at 17:10 o’clock, Pha Phui Thiracitto from Vat Pha Maha That, Luang Prabang, sponsored and inscribed this manuscript to support the Teachings of the Buddha. Nibbāna hotu no anāgate kāle (May this be a condition for us to reach Nirvana in the future.).
