Description of manuscript content:
The text describes the merit derived from listening to Sai Nòi (small victory) and from making a manuscript entitled Sap Sai. By making the manuscript of Sai Nòi, the sponsor would gain the same merit as from making thousands of Buddha statues. The Buddha said that "the ones who give food and water – means they give energy; the ones who give clothes – means they give beauty; the ones who give Dhamma – means they give humanity, wisdom, and a way to escape from suffering.
Colophon:
Folio 14 on the recto side: In BE 2512, a hap hao year, on the third day of the waxing moon of the ninth [lunar], a Friday, Pha Phui Thiracitta Thera, the abbot of Vat Pha Maha That Rajabvoravihan and the Chao Khana Tasaeng Tai (the southern ecclesiastical head of the sub-district of Vat That), Luang Prabang, inscribed this manuscript. May this merit be a condition to reach Nirvana.
