Description of manuscript content:
The Buddha dwelt in the Anathapindika Monastery in Jeta’s Grove, near Savatthi. When it was getting night, a deity whose surpassing splendor illuminated the entire Jeta Grove came to the presence of the Buddha, drew near, respectfully saluted him and stood on one side. Standing thus, he addressed the Buddha in verses: “Many deities and humans longing for happiness have pondered on the questions of blessings. Tell me what are the supreme blessings?” The Buddha addressed him in verse: “Not to associate with the fool but with the wise and honor those who are worth being respected; these are supreme blessings.” Then the Buddha delivered a sermon explaining 38 kinds of Blessings.
