Dhutanga are the thirteen kinds of ascetic practices to remove defilements with routinely observing one or many of the following practices: using pangsakula robes; using three robes; going out for alms collection; going alone for alms collection; sitting to eat once a day; eating only what is provided in the alms-bowl; avoiding food after mid-day; sleeping in the forest; staying under a big tree; staying outdoors; staying in a cemetery; sleeping on any given things; and keeping sitting posture.
