Description of manuscript content:
The fourth fascicle of Cundasukarika Sutta was written in Lao and narrates Matali Devaputta who took Dhammika Bandit to the Tavatimsa heaven. God Indra invited him to stay but Dhammika declined because he wanted to accumulate merit. Then he descended to the human world.
Colophon:
Folio 14 on the recto – verso side: [The writing of this manuscript was finished] in BE 2526, CS 1345, a ka khai year (Kun – the Year of the Pig), on the fifteenth day of the waxing moon of the sixth [lunar] month, a Tuesday, corresponding to 26 April 1983. Pha Phui Thiracitto from Vat Pha Maha That Rajabovoravihan, Luang Prabang municipal, had the religious faith to sponsor the making of these four manuscript-fascicles entitled Chunthasukarikasut to support the Teachings of the Buddha and to be dedicated as the religious properties to Vat Pha Maha That Rajabovoravihan, Luang Prabang municipal. May I dedicate the benefits derived from this merit to all beneficiaries: parents, siblings, teachers, all beings creature and those who have already passed away to the other world. If you acknowledge by any of your ways, please say congratulation to achieve the advantages in your blissful stages of existence.
Other notes:
On the other hand, may the benefits derived from this merit lead me to the heaven realm, to achieve human and heavenly prosperities and to successfully attain Nibbāna in the future. Isitaṃ pattitaṃ mayahaṃ kibbameva samecantu niccaṃ dhuvaṃ.
