The manuscript deals with legal matters according to the Shāfi‘ī School related to worship, social life as well as civil, and penal law. It also contains Arabic grammar and Sufi aspects on worship and proper conduct both in relation to God as well as in relation to fellow human beings.

Other notes:
The manuscript is incomplete as pages at the beginning are missing. After the text of the ‘Umdat al-salik are various legal problems from various books on Islamic jurisprudence. The manuscript is damaged with loss of text. Some pages have – sometimes extensive – marginal glosses. The text is written without the use of diacritics.
